Forging the Self:
Dreams and Alchemical Fire

presented by Mike Box, Jungian Analyst

The Mississippi Jung Society is pleased

to announce our fifth annual Winter Conference

where with the help our guest lecturer, Mike Box, we will explore

the powerful forces of Alchemical Fire.

We will examine the nature of fire, drawing inspiration from the ancient alchemists who revered it as a powerful catalyst for change. From the electrifying energy

of a lightning strike to the ethereal glow of Celestial Fire, we will navigate through the first of the Four Elements, illuminating both its external manifestations and its profound symbolic presence in our dreams and in our Psyche.

Fire has been a relentless agent of change since primordial times.

Throughout history, humanity has created and cultivated a deep relationship with fire.

We are fire’s keystone species. This bond is woven into the very fabric of our existence; nearly everything we produce and consume has been touched by its flames.

As we reflect on fire's dual role as both creator and destroyer,

we invite you to consider how this elemental force mirrors

our own journeys of self-discovery and transformation.

In this seminar, we will uncover how this relationship serves as the foundational constant of the alchemical process, guiding us toward personal evolution and individuation. The fire within the athanor—the alchemist's furnace—symbolizes

the heart of the Great Art.

Ancient alchemical practitioners tended their fires for hours, days, and weeks.

This act of tending the fire mirrors our own alchemical work— presenting an invitation to for us to examine our dreams and to gain psychic insights.

Join us as we embark on this transformative journey together in March 2025. Let us forge connections between our dreams, Psyche, and reality, harnessing the power of fire to illuminate our paths of self-discovery and aid us in the process of individuation.
